Tour Description


Day 1: Arrival in Cusco

Upon your arrival in Cusco, we will escort you to your chosen hotel situated in the heart of the city. After a brief rest to acclimate to the altitude, you will embark on a tour of Cusco, exploring the most significant sites of Inca heritage.

Your journey begins at Koricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. Following this, you'll proceed to the Plaza de Armas to visit the grand Cusco Cathedral, which houses exquisite religious art from the Cusco School of Art. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the stunning main square, a favored gathering spot for both locals and tourists.

We will then continue to explore archaeological sites located in close proximity to Cusco’s historic center. Our first stop is the Sacsayhuaman fortress, just 2 kilometers from the city center. This remarkable site is renowned for its immense stone walls, some weighing as much as 120 tons.

Your exploration continues at the red fortress of Qenqo, a sacred site dedicated to Earth worship, featuring intriguing underground galleries. Next, you’ll pass by Puka Pukara, which served as a military control center, and finally, visit the water temple known as Tambomachay, a sacred place with aqueducts and springs.

After the tour, we will drop you off at Plaza El Regocijo.

Day 2: Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco

We will collect you early in the morning and head to the train station in Poroy for your journey to Machu Picchu. The train ride offers spectacular views of the Sacred Valley, Urubamba, and the Amazon rainforest, showcasing Peru’s diverse landscapes.

Upon reaching Machu Picchu town, a short stroll will take you to the bus station, followed by a 30-minute bus ride from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. Inside, you'll enjoy a professional two-hour guided tour of the stunning historical sanctuary of Machu Picchu, followed by leisure time to explore independently. After a magical experience at Machu Picchu, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes.

Subsequently, you will board the train back to Poroy station. Upon arrival, we will be there to transport you to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 3: Departure from Cusco

At the scheduled time, we will arrange your transfer to the airport or bus station for your onward journey to your next destination.

To guarantee entry to Machu Picchu and secure good train schedules, it's advisable to book 4–8 weeks in advance during peak season (June–August) and at least 2–4 weeks the rest of the year. To complete your booking, you will need to provide your full name, passport number, desired entry date and time, and payment. Upon confirmation, you will receive an electronic voucher with itinerary details, train tickets, and entrance tickets. Spaces for Huayna Picchu/Machu Picchu Mountain are limited and sell out quickly. For this tour to Machu Picchu and Cusco City Tour, we recommend: your original passport, layered clothing, a raincoat or poncho, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, reusable water bottles, light snacks, non-slip hiking boots, and a small backpack (train companies often have baggage restrictions). Bring cash in soles for personal expenses. November to March is rainy; May to September is dry with cool nights. Protect your camera and documents.
