Descripción del Tour:
Our thrilling adventure commences at the stunning Plaza Regocijo, just steps away from the magnificent Plaza de Armas in Cusco. Once everyone is gathered, we'll board a comfortable tourist vehicle that will transport us to the quaint village of Cruspata. The ride will take approximately 50 minutes, delivering you to the starting point for our amazing ATV excursion.
Our seasoned guide will provide a comprehensive briefing on the selected route, allowing you to get acquainted with the operation of the ATVs. Following a 30-minute training session, we'll reboard the transport to head to one of these destinations: Huapo Lagoon or Moray.
The first option leads us to the breathtaking Huaypo Lagoon, situated in the district of Eqqeco, near the enchanting village of Chinchero, at an elevation of 3,500 meters. For around two hours, you'll explore the picturesque surroundings of this 1-kilometer-long lagoon, discovering the legends that it harbors.
In addition, you'll be captivated by the stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges, including Salkantay, Verónica, and Chicón. At this location, you can indulge in various activities such as fishing and water sports.
The second path takes you to the Moray ruins. Enjoy an exhilarating 2-hour ATV ride around this area before embarking on a 20-minute walking tour to explore these Inca ruins. Located 7 kilometers from Maras, the Moray archaeological site features three massive circular terraces, each with its own intriguing history. The largest terrace, with an impressive depth of about 30 meters (98 feet), is a spectacular sight.
Be awed by the agricultural terraces arranged in concentric circles, reminiscent of an ancient Greek amphitheater. It's no surprise that the name Moray is associated with corn cultivation, known as "Aymoray" in Quechua. Dive into the history of this site as you learn about its role as an agricultural laboratory.
Prepare to be astonished by the sophisticated irrigation system developed at Moray, which far exceeded the standards of its era. This visit not only connects you with nature and history but also enhances your understanding of Inca agricultural advancements.
After exploring Huaypo Lagoon or Moray, you'll return to the base to leave the ATVs and once again board the transport, heading to the renowned Maras Salt Mines.
Located just 40 kilometers northwest of the majestic city of Cusco, in the Urubamba province, you'll discover the remarkable natural salt pools known as Maras, dating back to the Inca period. These pools, set at an altitude of 3,300 meters, are a true testament to Inca engineering and craftsmanship.
Be amazed as saltwater flows beneath the pools and evaporates, leaving behind salt crystals that form over 3,000 natural pools. The views from this site are simply awe-inspiring, as it is perched on an open hillside, offering a unique and spectacular panorama.
The charming town of Maras is known for its salt production and trade, alongside its agricultural and livestock heritage. After exploring this picturesque locale, we will set off on our exciting ATV tour of Maras. We offer two captivating routes, and you can pick the one that most appeals to you when booking your adventure.
At the conclusion of this exciting experience, we will return to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at the final point of the excursion, at Plaza El Regocijo.
